Math:
This week we will continue working on Multiplication & Division strategies. We will review the Math interim assessment that the students completed last week and practice different testing strategies.
We are continuing to use our 5 Multiplication Strategies listed below, and our 5 Division Strategies:
1. Fair Shares
2. Repeated Subtraction
3. Number Line
4. Arrays
5. Fact Families
Social Studies:
We will be learning about different cultures from around the world. The students will research Middle Eastern culture, Greek culture, and Hispanic culture. The students will learn about the culture's traditions in the native land and here in Charlotte. They will also be researching traditional food, dress, and language.
Science:
We will be introducing and learning about shadows while finishing our unit on the Solar System.
Literacy:
We will be assessing Non-Fiction text features. Students will be continuing to learn new prefixes. Students will also be reviewing their Interim Assessments with teachers to practice test taking strategies and skills focusing on Main Idea & Detail.
Writing:
In Writing, students are planning their own Non-Fiction texts. They will be researching and gathering information on the Sun to begin planning a Non-Fiction chapter book.
