Math
This week we will use CUBES, a word problem solving strategy, to solve 2-digit and 3-digit addition and subtraction word problems. (3.NBT.1 & 3.NBT. 2) We will also work on identifying the reasonable answer (estimating) before solving the answer.
Social Studies
We will begin our unit on civics and government. We will understand how citizens participate in their communities. We will discuss how we can be leaders within the school community by reading Grace for President. We will write a persuasive essay about why they would be a good class president. (3.C&G.2.1)

In Literacy we will continue to visualize to sense of text. The students will use schema and inference informally as they visualize.
In writing we will continue to explore Personal Narratives. The students will choose a topic/ small idea and begin to draft their personal narrative story.
In grammar this week we will continue to identify and use adjectives.
